Former Emperors
1. Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard
Edward Newgate, better known as Whitebeard, was recognized as "the strongest man in the world" and "the closest to the One Piece". Hailing from Sphinx, he sailed under Rocks D. Xebec before forming his own crew. Endowed with the powers of the Gura Gura no Mi, or Tremor-Tremor Fruit, his power and strength were undeniable and earned him his Emperor status. His charisma and vision of family made him a revered and respected figure. Slain during the Summit War at Marineford, his sacrifice remains a memorable moment for all One Piece fans.
2. Shanks The Red-Haired
Shanks, the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates, is known for his balanced and peaceful approach. A former cabin boy on Gol D. Roger's crew, he plays a crucial role in Luffy's life. Shanks possesses impressive Haki and lost an arm saving Luffy, but this has not diminished his strength and influence. The only Emperor without any Devil Fruit powers, his strength is nonetheless phenomenal. He currently holds the highest bounty among the Four Emperors, at 4,048,900,000 berries.
3. Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom
Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom, is the terrifying matriarch of the Charlotte Family and rules over Totto Land. Her Devil Fruit, the Soru Soru no Mi, or Soul-Soul Fruit, allows her to manipulate souls. Her brute strength, combined with her ability to create Homies, made her a dreaded figure in the world of One Piece. Big Mom has now been stripped of her status following the battle at Onigashima, notably thanks to the alliance of Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kidd.
4. Kaido
Kaido, "the strongest creature in the world," is the captain of the Beast Pirates. His Devil Fruit, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Mythical Zoan type Fish-Fish Fruit, Azure Dragon version, grants him extraordinary power and resilience. 1. Shanks The Red-Haired (unchanged)

2. Marshall D. Teach, aka Blackbeard
Marshall D. Teach, known as Blackbeard, took his place as Emperor after assassinating Whitebeard during the Summit War at Marineford. Now possessing two Devil Fruits, Whitebeard's Gura Gura no Mi and his own Yami Yami no Mi or Dark-Dark Fruit, he represents a growing threat and embodies unbridled ambition in the pirate world. 3. Buggy The Clown
Buggy, once a cabin boy alongside Shanks in Gol D. Roger's crew and a comedic rival of Luffy, has surprisingly risen through the ranks to become an Emperor.
