Why is One Piece on hiatus?
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the series took a significant break after episode 1122 of the Egghead Arc , leaving viewers in suspense. This new announcement, shared on social media by Toei Animation in an open letter to fans, aims to focus on the manga. Indeed, the anime was starting to catch up little by little with the original work of Eiichiro Oda in the paper version. A break was therefore necessary to allow for better timing in the anime adaptation, improve the content and quality of the episodes.
Episode 1122 Summary
Episode 1122 featured pivotal moments on Hive Island , also known as Pirate Islands , where dramatic tensions between the Navy and the pirates played out, involving key characters such as Vice Admiral Garp coming to rescue Koby from Blackbeard's crew.
Garp and the Marine assistance will notably be taken by a colossal attack by Avalo Pizzaro .
The latter, holder of the Fruit of the Island or Shima Shima no Mi , will see his plan thwarted by the new awakened power of Kobby who, after a moving flashback on his journey, lets out the rage he has inside him to protect his mentor.
The episode ends, leaving Garp laughing out loud but injured, on the ground, from his injuries from his previous fight against Aokiji.
